ARMS-D (Adherence to Refills and Medicines Scale for Diabetes) is a validated, copyrighted survey instrument co-authored and co-owned by Vanderbilt University, Yeshiva University, and Emory University, designed to assess medication adherence behaviors in patients with type 2 diabetes. As a derivative work of the ARMS, it provides a reliable, standardized tool for capturing insights into prescription refills and regimen compliance, supporting non-commercial research, clinical studies, and commercial applications in diabetes management. With strong psychometric properties, ARMS-D enables the identification of adherence barriers, evaluation of interventions, and improvement of health outcomes, requiring proper citation in all publications: “Mayberry LS, Gonzalez JS, Wallston KA, Kripalani S, Osborn CY. The ARMS-D outperforms the SDSCA, but both are reliable, valid, and predict glycemic control. Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, 2013; 102(2): 96-401.”
